Chris McCullough will have to compete with a collection of seven forwards and centers for playing time on the Nets.

Former Syracuse forward Chris McCullough was taken with the No. 29 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Brooklyn Nets. The hometown fans at the Barclays Center chanted his name before the pick and they got what they wanted.

McCullough, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward, joins a roster that has seven forwards/centers, most notably Brook Lopez. Mason Plumlee also got significant playing time down low for Brooklyn, but was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. The other five big men on the roster have contracts that expire in the next one or two years.

ESPN analyst Jay Bilas said McCullough may benefit from some time in the D-league, but time will tell if he cost himself an initial NBA roster spot by leaving after one year of college.
